Postpartum reality in Europe

The Postnatal rEvolution Summit advocates for necessary improvements in the postpartum experience in Europe.

This collective effort by the Postnatal Support Network, the European Doula Network (EDN), and Geboortenis, is set to inspire change and drive the conversation forward.

To initiate this conversation, it was important to understand the status of postpartum care for mothers and identify their needs. EDN undertook this responsibility and carried out a survey on postpartum practices and available options in various countries.

A total of 815 women who had given birth within the last five years from 29 countries across Europe participated in the survey.

about our research projects

In 2020, the Postnatal Support Network initiated a five-year Research Project on the postnatal period with a powerful mission: to unearth scientific evidence and gather our own data on the subject. Our goal is to raise awareness and take the next step—demand social and political change to support young families with concrete measures. This project, fueled by the generous support of the Yogi Tea Foundation and countless hours of work by our team and volunteers, is a beacon of hope for the future of postnatal care.

Change is only possible with a collective effort
