A Major Milestone — Our Postnatal Plan Is Now Available in Japanese! 🇯🇵

Dear Community,

We are absolutely delighted to share a major milestone in our work supporting families through the postpartum period: the Postnatal Support Network’s Postnatal Plan is now available in Japanese! 🎉

This translation marks more than just access to another language.

It represents expanded cultural relevance and accessibility for Japanese-speaking parents around the world — including those navigating the early postpartum weeks with limited in-language resources.

The first 40 days after birth are powerful, tender, and transformational. Yet too often, support tapers off right when families need reassurance, practical steps, and community-centred guidance most.

Our Postnatal Plan helps families:

✨ Prepare a thoughtful support system for the early postpartum phase

✨ Understand typical physical and emotional adjustments after birth

✨ Center recovery, rest, and connection within a “village” of care

✨ Strengthen partnerships and community involvement through intentional planning

We want to express deep gratitude to Ikumi Fritz, whose incredible work made this translation possible. Ikumi — a certified postpartum doula with PSN and now a mentor and junior trainer — has brought her heart and expertise to this collaboration. Her dedication to maternal-centred support and intercultural work reflects our shared belief that all families deserve accessible, compassionate guidance. 💛

Dear Reader, Have you ever felt like society abandons women right after birth? Have you heard testimonies from mothers where postpartum "shattered them into pieces"? The fourth trimester is often neglected, even though its importance is central. But there is a way to change this narrative. Not just for others, but also for your own journey. Today, we want to share the stories of two women who were exactly where you are right now. They felt the "call," but they needed the bridge to turn that...

Dear Reader, Society prepares women for the birth, but it often abandons them right after. While the world focuses on the nursery and the baby clothes, the new mother is often left in a black hole of care. She is expected to be resilient, and to manage it all alone. But at the Postnatal Support Network, we know that the 40 days following childbirth are the most critical for a woman’s lifelong health. The truth is: Mothers need mothering, too. We are looking for compassionate leaders to help...

Dear PSN Community, Behind every new mother is a profound inner transformation — one that reshapes identity, brain, emotions, and sense of self. This transition has a name: matrescence. At the Postnatal Support Network, we believe that naming this passage changes everything. When mothers, doulas, families, and communities understand matrescence, we move from pathologising normal change to honouring one of the most significant developmental transitions of adult life. What Is Matrescence? The...
