The Invisible Crisis in Motherhood - and How to Change This
Published 2 days ago • 1 min read
Dear Reader,
Society prepares women for the birth, but it often abandons them right after.
While the world focuses on the nursery and the baby clothes, the new mother is often left in a black hole of care. She is expected to be resilient, and to manage it all alone.
But at the Postnatal Support Network, we know that the 40 days following childbirth are the most critical for a woman’s lifelong health. The truth is: Mothers need mothering, too.
We are looking for compassionate leaders to help us change the narrative. If you’ve ever felt a calling to support women during their most vulnerable and powerful transition, our 5-Week Postnatal Doula Intensive was designed for you.
We don’t just teach you useful tips on how to support young mothers.
Our training integrates science, practical in-home skills, trauma-informed care, and systemic perspectives preparing you to accompany families with competence.
This isn't just a course; it’s an invitation to join a global Postnatal rEvolution. In 5 weeks, we bridge the gap between ancestral wisdom and modern physiology.
Here is a glimpse of what you will master:
The physiology of the postpartum period
How to create restful and healing environments for postpartum mothers
Techniques for providing emotional, physical, and practical support
Nutrition and meal planning for postpartum recovery
Soothing rituals to welcome the baby and honor the transition into motherhood

Dear PSN Community, Behind every new mother is a profound inner transformation — one that reshapes identity, brain, emotions, and sense of self. This transition has a name: matrescence. At the Postnatal Support Network, we believe that naming this passage changes everything. When mothers, doulas, families, and communities understand matrescence, we move from pathologising normal change to honouring one of the most significant developmental transitions of adult life. What Is Matrescence? The...
A season of light, rest, and being held Dear friends, At this time of year, many cultures mark a quiet turning point. The days are still short, winter is not yet over — and yet, the light is unmistakably returning. February 2, traditionally known as Candlemas, is a moment that has long been associated with warmth, protection, and the gentle promise of renewal. Today, we reclaim it not as a religious observance, but as a symbolic pause — one that speaks directly to the postpartum experience....

It represents expanded cultural relevance and accessibility for Japanese-speaking parents around the world — including those navigating the early postpartum weeks with limited in-language resources. The first 40 days...
